The NH Center for Excellence is a resource center for best practices in alcohol and drug services in New Hampshire. This website provides practitioners and providers with tools, resources, training information, and data to support their practices.
The NH Center for Excellence is an initiative of the NH Department of Health and Human Services’ Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Services and is funded in part by the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA); the NH Governor's Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention, Intervention and Treatment; and the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.
New Hampshire Regional Data Profiles
Data profiles on substance abuse and its impacts have been compiled for each of ten geographic regions in New Hampshire that correspond to the Regional Network System of the New Hampshire Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Services. The data profiles are being used by community leadership groups to determine regional goals, priorities, and strategies to prevent and reduce alcohol and other drug abuse. Call to Action
On February 2, 2012, the New Hampshire Governor's Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse released its Call To Action: Responding to New Hampshire's Prescription Drug Abuse Epidemic, a comprehensive set of recommendations and commitments to action to prevent and deter prescription drug abuse. The state's rate of young adult prescription drug abusers is second in the country, and its rate of prescription drug-related deaths now outpaces the rate of traffic fatalities. The Commission's Call To Action outlines specific strategies for health and medical practitioners, safety and law enforcement agencies, schools and colleges, businesses, and government to respond to the epidemic.

State Epidemiological Profile of Mental, Emotional & Behavioral Health
UPDATED
The NH Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Services released a state data profile on substance use and mental health indicators. The data profile is a product of the State Epidemiological Outcome Workgroup (SEOW) that is a starting point for the workgroup to determine key indicators for a new state monitoring system for substance use and related mental health data.
Resiliency & Recovery Oriented Systems of Care
The NH Bureau of Drug & Alcohol Services is supporting the adoption of a recovery oriented system of care model for its current provider system and presented key principles and activities to the Governor's Commission on Alcohol & Drug Abuse Prevention, Intervention & Treatment at the October 2011 meeting.
Annual Report to the Governor's Commission
The Governor's Commission on Alcohol & Drug Abuse Prevention, Intervention & Treatment submitted its annual report to the Governor in December 2011. This report provides detailed information on each of the Commission's agencies in the past year and recommendations for strategic priorities for 2012 to better address alcohol and drug abuse.
